Concept Mouldings launches its new exciting Endura Frontal Protection System
Concept Mouldings has launched its new Endura Frontal Protection System (FPS) for SUVs, 4x4s and light commercial vans which will save lives and reduce the risk of serious injuries to vulnerable road users from 99 per cent to 2 per cent.
The energy absorbing Endura FPS protects the vulnerable road user from hard parts at the front of vehicles such as the bonnet leading edge, radiator and engine. Testing carried out at MIRA (one of Europe’s leading vehicle design, development and certification centres) showed that the FPS reduced the risk of head injuries from over 99 per cent in the worst case down to less than 2 per cent and also substantially reduced the risk of injuries to the upper leg, abdomen and pelvis from 97 per cent down to 11 per cent when fitted to large and medium SUVs and also light commercial vans. Details of the comparative testing and information on this development in pedestrian safety are available at www.frontalprotectionsystems.eu or www.endura-fps.com.
In May 2007, a mandatory requirement on all Frontal Protection Systems (FPS) will come into force meaning none EC approved FPS such as Bull Bars and Nudge Bars will be outlawed by EEC regulations. Testing shows that the Endura FPS not only exceeds all EU requirements but is the first FPS to comply with the EU regulations.
The Managing Director of automotive engineering solutions supplier Concept Mouldings, (www.conceptmouldings.co.uk) Ian Finney, was presented with the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Black Country Chamber’s Business championships in June 2006. The award is based on the ground-breaking work the company has undertaken in the important area of pedestrian safety.
“This prestigious award recognises the hard work of all the team at Concept Mouldings. We now have a product that has been proved to meet future legislation and make vehicles safer,” said Ian Finney.
