Vans could be made much safer with
new Frontal Protection Systems (FPS)
Concept Mouldings is launching its
new Endura branded Frontal Protection
System for vans which will save lives
and reduce serious injuries to vulnerable
road users.
According to figures that have been
quoted by AA Business Services, van
drivers represent one sixth of the
UK’s driving population but statistically
they account for 25 per cent of road
fatalities each year.
Details of the results and information
on this development in pedestrian safety
are available at www.frontalprotectionsystems.eu
The fitting of Frontal Protection
Systems of this type, while making
the vehicles safer for vulnerable road
users, also offers a range of additional
benefits including a reduction in the
number of minor bumps and scrapes on
the fronts of vehicles.
The energy absorbing Frontal Protection
Systems offer the prospect of being
a winner for individual owners and
companies. Fleet owners will be able
to meet corporate social responsibility
goals by doing everything they can
to make their vehicles safer for vulnerable
road users, while at the same time
gaining a spin off benefit of reducing
vehicle damage, insurance claims and
time off the road.
If applied to all vehicles of this
type across Europe it is reasonable
to assume that many lives would be
saved and serious injuries such as
brain damage to vulnerable road users
would be considerably reduced.
